Online CCW Courses

 

Ballistic Precision is now offering online CCW courses. The process is simple:

  1. Select and enroll in your course below.

  2. Complete the course within 30 days at your own pace.

  3. Print your completion certificate and contact Ballistic Precision to schedule your live-fire range qualification with one of our certified instructors.

  4. After successfully completing the qualification, visit Humboldt County’s CCW application website to submit your application, upload your certificates, and follow all county requirements and instructions.

Our online training makes it convenient to complete the classroom portion of your CCW certification while still receiving professional, hands-on instruction for your required range qualification.

 
 

Initial

This comprehensive 16 hour eLearning program is designed to offer the most efficient and straightforward way to meet California’s training requirements for obtaining a CCW permit. The course delivers detailed instruction on firearm safety, shooting fundamentals, state and federal laws, legal responsibilities, situational awareness, conflict avoidance, and practical self-defense decision-making. It provides everything you need to be fully prepared for safe, responsible, and lawful concealed carry in California.

For the first time in modern history, California now allows non-residents to apply for a concealed carry permit and authorizes online training to fulfill the classroom requirement for both residents and non-residents.

Renewal

This comprehensive 8 hour eLearning program is designed to offer the most efficient and straightforward way to renew your California CCW permit. The course delivers detailed instruction on firearm safety, shooting fundamentals, state and federal laws, legal responsibilities, situational awareness, conflict avoidance, and practical self-defense decision-making. It provides everything you need to be fully prepared for safe, responsible, and lawful concealed carry in California.

Upon completion of this eLearning course, you will be provided with instructions on how to complete the mandatory live-fire shooting qualification and submit your renewal application.

County resources

Humboldt County Sheriff William F. Honsal is committed to issuing concealed carry weapons (CCW) permits to all those that qualify under California State Law.  The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office is the only licensing authority for all CCW permits for residents whose primary address is within the County of Humboldt. As of January 1, 2024, the California Department of Justice (DOJ) has issued new regulations stemming from Senate Bill 2 which amended various statutes regarding new and renewal CCW applicants.
